A Story That Inspired a Mission

At age 16, Matthew Peiffer entered foster care alongside his two sisters. Tragically, he was later separated from his sister Emily, who took her life shortly after aging out of the foster care system. That experience inspired Matthew to become a dedicated advocate for foster youth across Indiana.

Since 2018, Matthew has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the challenges faced by children in foster care and to create opportunities for them to thrive. His advocacy efforts have been recognized by USA TODAY and the United States Congress.

Who We Are

A VOICE FOR KIDS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is 100% volunteer-run. Since 2020, the organization has served more than 1,000 foster children each year through programs designed to provide hope, support and meaningful opportunities.

Every dollar donated goes directly toward helping foster youth throughout Indiana.

We believe every child deserves a voice, the chance to feel celebrated, and the support they need to succeed.

We are passionate about educating communities, preventing child abuse, and ensuring every foster child receives the support, encouragement and resources they need to thrive.

Birthday

We help more than 600 foster children each year celebrate their special day with birthday essentials.

Christmas

Angel Trees and community partners help deliver gifts to foster children across Indiana during the holidays.

Back-to-School

Backpacks and school supplies help foster youth start the school year prepared and confident.
